Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar

Dr. Deepak Mittal joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1998.

He has served in Bangladesh, Egypt and Israel in various capacities and as Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

At Headquarters (New Delhi), he has handled work related to countries in the neighbourhood and also served in the Prime Minister’s Office (2014-2016). He served as Joint Secretary (Consular, Passport & Visa) (2016- 2017) and Joint Secretary (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran) (2017-2020).

He assumed charge as Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar on 06 August, 2020.

He speaks Arabic, English, Hindi and Punjabi languages.

He is married and has a son and a daughter.
